VISION, MISSION, MANDATE & STRATEGIC DIRECTIONS
VISION
We want to live in a world where equality, justice and sustainability are the motivating principles behind all our actions.
MISSION
NCGC was born out of the desire to build a network of northern Canadians who want to make a local and global impact towards a just, equitable and sustainable world by enhancing the capacity of our northern network, educating and inspiring Northerners to take action, and creating connections among Northern Canadians.
OUR VALUES
We are committed to the recognition of the dignity of all people and their right to self-determination, to the protection of the world’s fragile environment, to the equitable distribution of power, and to the promotion of global understanding, cooperation, peace and justice through mutual learning, partnership, transparency and solidarity.
MANDATE
We directly engage and collaborate with northern Canadians for global equality, justice and sustainability.
OUR STRATEGIES
NCGC seeks to help northerners act on their desire to make the world a better place. We do this by providing educational opportunities on global issues such as poverty, health, equality and human rights, and encouraging individuals to take meaningful action.
Specifically, our objectives are achieved through:
Providing a structure within which northerners can share, learn and grow by interacting with one another;
Providing information and education on global issues;
Providing opportunities to meaningfully participate in global social justice programs;
Advocating on global issues through research and public engagement;
Championing local and global connections.
